Controversial Beverly Airport Hangar Project Suspended
Wed May 29 2024
A plan to build a football field-sized hangar at Beverly Airport has been suspended due to concerns about potential flooding in the adjacent neighborhood.
The hangar, proposed by FlightLevel Aviation, would house two jets.
However, neighbors worry that rain runoff from the hangar would worsen existing flooding issues. The Danvers Conservation Commission denied the initial permit due to stormwater concerns, but FlightLevel plans to submit a revised design.
The project is part of a larger expansion at the airport, including extending the primary runway, which has raised further concerns among residents.
