The chair of the Hanscom Field Advisory Commission, Chris Eliot, urged Massport to reject developers Runway Realty Ventures and North Airfield Ventures due to their controversial expansion plans at Hanscom Field, which include building 17 new hangars, renovating another, and adding 15,000 gallons of new fuel storage.

Eliot's colleagues, however, did not support his proposal. They felt it was outside the commission's scope to pass judgment on prospective tenants.

Despite public opposition from Concord and surrounding towns, the commission decided against sending Eliot's letter to Massport.

Eliot emphasized the developers' lack of trustworthiness and pointed out a recent fuel spill by Signature Aviation, which is tied to the project, as a red flag.
