Residents living near Rocky Mountain Metro Airport have initiated legal action, citing aircraft noise as a factor contributing to reduced property values

Residents of the Rock Creek subdivision near Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (RMMA) have filed a lawsuit against Jefferson County, which operates the airport. The lawsuit, involving over 400 homeowners, alleges that increased flight operations at RMMA have led to adverse effects such as noise pollution, exposure to leaded fuel, and decreased property values. It also contends that the airport has violated avigation easements granted to properties in the area, which were previously contested in a separate legal action resulting in the termination of nine easements in 2020.
